I plan on upgrading my head unit within the near long term to a Pioneer Premier DEH-P800PRS for various reasons such because the black face, lively crossover, TA, L/R Eq, and many others, and many others since I will be able to be doing an energetic 2-way setup for my entrance stage the usage of HAT Legatia L4's within the dash and some type of 6.5" midbass in the doors.
To round out the system, I was originally looking at getting a pair of JL 13TW5's since I need the subs under a false floor for a stealth install. However, I'm not too sure I want to really spend 00 on a pair of subs.
So with that in mind, I've been seriously looking at the Pioneer Premier TS-SW1241D as a possible candidate. And actually, if I go with these, it would be a total of (4) of them powered by my JL 500/1v2. Depending on where I buy them from, I can get all 4 of them anywhere between 0-600 shipped. I know they are not of the same caliber as the JL TW5 series, but they aren't junk either. I've done plenty of searching on this forum, several other forums and Google searches and really haven't come up with more than about 4 or 5 simple, generic reviews that don't tell me much of anything about these Pioneer Premier subs. The few reviews that are out there do all say that these subs are really punchy, can hit hard and are very clean, so that's good news.
I was wondering, does anyone on here have any of these subs, or have heard them that can share their thoughts and opinions on them? Maybe even compare them to other well known subs out there?
If I am to get a set of these, they will be in 0.50cf sealed each. With the combination of the EQ in the DEH-P800PRS and the bass EQ in the 500/1v2, I shouldn't have any problems getting a good, flat frequency response out of them. Of course, I'll have the Epicenter there for a little added fun when I want it.
Anyway, any information, thoughts, insight, opinions, etc, etc will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a number prematurely!
